Hi guys, welcome back!
I have been wanting a roast and some delicious gravy for quite some time now. I purchased this roast on Friday and seasoned it. I then got up early Sunday morning, said a prayer and asked God to allow me to put all my love and his special touch before I started cooking. Yes Lord! He answered my prayers cause this food was AMAZING. Marinating is definitely worth it. You will see the difference in your food. Make sure you check out the video and enjoy. PREP/COOKING TIME: 6.5 - 7 hours
SERVING SIZE: 5
INGREDIENTS/GROCERY LIST LINKS:
1 medium white onion cut into slices
1 cup red onions diced
Seasonings: kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, and Dale’s Steak seasoning
Optional: tsp of flour, 1 pack of Lipton Onion Mushroom Soup & Dip Mix
DIRECTIONS
1. Start out by washing and tenderizing meat by poking with a fork or knife, then add all of your seasonings. Cover and allow to marinate for at least 24 hours in the refrigerator.
2. Once it has marinated, transfer to a pan with a little bit of oil and cook on both sides for 5-7 minutes on low to medium heat.
3. Transfer to preheated low slow cooker without drippings ( drippings can be added if you decide not to use the onion mushroom mixture).
4. If you are using the onion mushroom mix, add 1/2 cup of water to the pan with the drippings on low heat.
5. Whisk until smooth, then add the Lipton Onion Mushroom mix until smooth, then transfer the mixture to the crockpot.
6. After 4 - 5 hours add white onions and allow to finish cooking for another hour or two, until tender and falling apart.
7. For a thicker gravy, in a separate bowl add 1 tsp of flour to and juice from roast and mix until smooth.
8. Prepare your favorites sides, serve and enjoy!
